My love of musical theater began in 1972 when I saw "Hello Dolly" at Jesuit High School, a production of Sonny Borey and the Philelectic Society. I was 11 at the time and to this day, I cannot recall being more impressed by anything on the stage. Although I wouldn't be in a Phil's production until until my senior year at Jesuit, I saw all of their shows while there, multiple times in most instances.
At Loyola University where musical theater was more of a rarity, one of the voice faculty, Pat Etienne, produced and directed a couple of musical reviews called "Broadway Babies", which once again allowed me to be on the stage.
Then in 1998 my wife and children became involved with the St. Pius X Players, a community theater group in Lake Vista founded, directed and produced by the late Bob Kearney and his wife Nancy. I didn't do the first show with my family (The King & I), but the production was so impressive and the group so welcoming that I auditioned the next year, thus starting a multi-year stint which left us with many wonderful experiences and friendships. I'm forever grateful to people like Sonny, Pat, Bob & Nancy....their talents and efforts have given me and countless others a lifetime of treasured memories.
